Slow cookers have been around for a very long time and some families take advantage of them when it comes to making an easy, ready to eat dinner. Every once in a while, however, something new comes along that changes our thinking.
That is the case with this new trend of the Slow Cooker Big Breakfast. It is very popular now on social media and people are falling in love with it.
More or less, the Slow Cooker Big Breakfast involves cooking a large breakfast in one slow cooker. Just put the food in before you go to bed, turn on the crockpot and when you wake up, you are ready to eat.
This slow cooker hack was shared on the Slow Cooker Recipe & Tips Facebook page and it wasn’t long before it was viral:
People were saying that they were going to make this delicious meal as soon as they could.
Ara Haddon, a home cook writes: ‘Finally gave the slow cooker big breakfast a go. Been meaning to try it for ages. Verdict: Best.Idea.ever! This will be us every big breakfast morning. Thank you to whoever it was that discovered it!’
She also discusses how to make it: ‘Place all breakfast ingredients in the slow cooker like in the photo – bacon and sausages along the sides so they crisp up, (next time I will try using baking paper to help keep them from sticking to the sides).
‘Saucy stuff like baked beans and mushrooms into individual cups so they don’t end up a big mash. Mushrooms: I added garlic, butter, and a dash of cream. In the morning I put them on the stovetop to thicken the sauce.
‘Hash browns – I want to try putting them along the edges as well next time to see if that helps them get crispy. They were still delicious as is.
‘I turned the slow cooker on low at 11 pm, I got up at 8 am and it looked like it had been ready for a while. we ate at around 9 am
